Grandmother's Garden Quilt - Appliqué Flower pattern

The patterns for Garden Bouquet originated in 1928 and 1929 in series of newspaper patterns by Florence LaGanke Harris. Each week, LaGanke presented one pattern for the quilt and give readers a week to complete the block.

The pattern includes: 17 flower designs (the Rose is repeated in all 4 corners), a basket pattern and a quilting diagram.

In addition to the pattern, the reader was treated to a fictitious story about a quilt group and their leader, Nancy Page. In the group, they shared stories, and decided on what colors to use for their flowers. Contributions for the patterns were sent from readers in all parts of the country.
