1932 Horn Of Plenty - Vintage Appliqué pattern

The "Horn of Plenty" quilt pattern is by Eveline Foland. This was a series of appliqué patterns, published in 1932 in the Kansas City Star newspapers. This pattern has 18 blocks with different fruits. There is also a cornucopia pattern which is intended to be a quilting pattern that you use in alternating blocks, and a border design pattern. Fruits: Apple, Apricot, Cherry, Plum, Lemon, Grape, Banana, Peach, Orange, Pomegranate, Currants, Kumquat, Cranberry, Damson Plum, Loganberry, Yellow Apple, Pear, Strawberry. The designs should be appliquéd on fine white muslin or broadcloth, on blocks cut 10 by 12 inches. Color suggestions are provided with the patterns. Opposite - Layout diagram Blocks are suitable for appliqué, redwork, bluework or other colored embroidery. |
